In order to assist with creating common page structures throughout the wiki, this wiki has a heavily modified version of the Uniwiki Layouts extension installed.
Creating new pages with Layouts
When creating a new page in some namespaces, the Layouts extension inserts an additional step before the edit page for the new page. On this extra step, you will be prompted to select a Layout from which the contents of the edit page text box will be pre-filled, using a form that looks like the one shown here.
Unlike the description provided on the Uniwiki Layouts page, the version of the Layouts extension installed in this wiki does not support or enforce the @optional, @required, or @lock-* directives, and the necessity of including specific sections of any given layout is dictated by documented editing rules. The layout selected when creating a page is primarily a guide, and deviation from the layout is at the discretion of the editor.
The @namespace directive documented on the Uniwiki Layouts page is supported, so the layout selection step may show different layouts depending on the namespace you are creating a page in.
